Targets and main tasks

The main reason for constituting the joint stock company was to satisfy the needs of its shareholders and Federation members. Using valuable experience from the EU, the Company concentrates on:

• professional services of an analytical and consulting character, including system solution of relevant problems of metallurgy (e.g. transfer of Czechoslovak standards (CSN) to European Standards)
• building-up an information system referring to up-to-date questions of steel marketing in the world
• helping to very promptly solve intricate questions of shareholders' positions in the international steel market by creating a common platform for discussing these problems
• maintaining necessary connections with foreign institutions
• promoting and defending metallurgy in the entire sphere of economic and industrial policy

The heart on Company's (Federation's) mission continues to be presentation of economic interests of the steel industry. As the representative of the branch, HZ, a.s. helps to push them through, what means in practice:

• to collect, process and analyse necessary information, discuss it with the members and to present the resulting particular requirements to the state administration as well as foreign institution
• to report (in charge of shareholders) to the Czech Statistical Office and partners abroad (UNO Economic Commission in Geneva, Eurofer, IISI)
