Target groups
Communication with the public is a very important part of the Federation's activities. In pursuit of increasing demand for steel products and achieving constant growth in steel we concentrate on the following target groups:
- Our direct customers - users and stockholders
Designers in the various market sectors (construction, automotive, packaging etc.) - High school and University teachers
- Media
- National and local governments who determine the economic and legislative environment in which we operate.
- Financial analysts, institutions and shareholders, who influence the financial resources available to steel producers
But, while external communication is a priority, there is also a clear need to improve communication within the industry. This is an area where the HZ takes up a role of mediator.
"Why steel?" - material introduction
- Steel is a modern, versatile, continuously developing material
- For the majority of applications, steel should be the material of choice
- The steel industry recognises its environmental responsibilities, and steel is the most recycled material in the world
- Steel has very strong environmental credentials (e.g. energy) - far better than many other materials
- Steel is everywhere - if an object is not made of steel, it is almost certain that steel is required to make the machinery which makes the object, and then to transport it to the user
- The steel industry is a vibrant, exciting place in which to work
